PART 4: Midnight at the Main Gates
Black SUVs shatter suburban midnight silence.
Back at the Westlake estate, the main dining room had finally grown quiet around 2:00 a.m.
Edward Vance poured himself a final glass of scotch, leaning back lazily against the velvet upholstery of his dining chair, while Lauren curled up beside him in a cashmere throw.
"Do you think she's learned her lesson yet, Edward?" Lauren asked softly, tracing a manicured finger along the lapel of his tuxedo jacket.
"If she hasn't, the cold floor will teach her," Edward replied with a dismissive shrug. "People like Valerie think they can challenge my authority. They forget who owns the roof over their heads."
Suddenly, a low, ominous rumble echoed from outside the massive wrought-iron security gates of the estate.
It wasn't the sound of a passing car.
It was the synchronized, heavy diesel roar of multiple tactical transport vehicles idling in unison.
Edward frowned, setting his glass down on the mahogany table with a sharp click. "What the hell is that?"
Before Lauren could answer, the estate’s multi-million-dollar perimeter alarm system shrieked to life—not with a normal intrusion warning, but with a high-pitched digital override alert that flashed red across every smart panel in the house.
WARNING: SYSTEM BREACH. EXTERNAL OVERRIDE ACTIVE.
"Check the security monitors!" Edward barked, standing up abruptly.
Matthew Herrera rushed into the dining room, his face completely devoid of color, holding a master tablet that was flashing error codes in rapid succession.
"Mr. Edward... we have a problem," Matthew stammered, his voice shaking violently. "Four unmarked black SUVs just blew through the front security gates. They didn't stop for the bollards. The gate hydraulics were... remotely disabled."
Edward let out an incredulous laugh, though a flicker of unease crossed his features. "Disabled? By whom? Call the local police department immediately!"
"We can't," Matthew whispered, looking straight into Edward's eyes. "The cell towers within a five-mile radius have just been jammed. We're completely cut off."

Before Edward could demand an explanation, the heavy oak front doors of the mansion were blown inward with a deafening, synchronized crash.
Splintered wood and reinforced brass bolts flew across the marble foyer as a dozen heavily armed operators in matte-black tactical gear poured into the house, their assault rifles raised, securing every corner in absolute, terrifying silence.
